Ginny was born and lived in Washington state until completing high school and moving to Southern CaliforniGinny Blakeslee Breena where she spent the next thirteen years of her life. In 1978 she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from a liberal arts college in Los Angeles (Master’s College FKA Los Angeles Baptist College), and has always loved “the arts”.

She moved to Idaho in 1981 and has now lived in Idaho longer than she has lived anywhere. She loves living in the high desert mountains of Idaho with her husband of more than twenty years, Michael Breen, and their teenage son, Ryan.

In 1998 she began studying painting with teacher/artist Lee Withers at the College of Southern Idaho and has attended many classes and workshops with other great art teachers including: John Blackman and Mike Youngman both of the College of Southern Idaho, Norma Dennison, Richard Bird, Roy Mason, Carrie Stuart Parks, James Soares, Dwight Williams, Joyce Green, Kathleen Torgesen Murdock, Maria Smith, Gloria Miller Allen, and with Claudette Bray of Springdale School of Art.

- June 13, 2003, her art piece “Stand By Me” was selected for the Idaho Watercolor Society's Traveling Show (IWS).

- Her piece “Silver Cord” was juried into the IWS 2005 Annual Juried Show and won the Jack Richeson Corporate Merchandise Award and also a Corporate Purchase Award. “Garden Guardians” was also juried into the IWS 2006 Annual show.

- Ginny also shows her work regionally with Idaho Watercolor Society and has been an active member for six years; she is currently Traveling Show Coordinator for the Society. She has shown her work at the Big Wood Artist Gallery in Ketchum, Idaho, and in the upstairs gallery at Piazza di Vino in Boise, Idaho.
